RestEz is another well-known restaurant POS company. You can go to their website at
www.restez.com. On their website they have a quote generator - you tell it
what sort of restaurant you have and they will generate a quote based on what you enter
We told the quote generator that we wanted a three-station system with three printers and
one cash drawer.
The prices quoted on the RestEz site are typical of the prices you pay when you buy your system
from someone who sells the total package. Micros and the others would be about the same.
The following table shows the original RestEz quote as of July 7th, 2002) with the saving you can realize
by Doing-It-Yourself.
We didn't quibble when it came to some prices; for example, we didn't change the
prices for the touchscreens, printers or cash drawer but you could probably
beat them too if you shop around
You can save almost $6,000 off the RestEz or comparable prices by buying your
own hardware (search the Web) and just paying someone to install the wiring and setup the network.
